Amaze was asked by Trek Bikes to re-platform their current website in order to implement e-commerce capabilities. We took this opportunity to improve the overall user experience and information architecture.

Our technical partner recommended to build the new platform on hybris - one of the e-commerce leaders at the time - which meant leveraging the platform capabilities as much as possible in order to meet the deadline the client set us.
My role
As my experience grew in e-commerce, I was put in charge of helping Trek moving their existing e-commerce platform onto hybris. I was then for 3 weeks in the US - in Chicago to meet our technical partner and in Wisconsin to run workshops with the client.
The Head of UX assisted me initially ensuring that the list of functionalities and requirements recorded everything that was discussed during our workshops with the client. I then carried on on my own annotated the platform's wireframe to give the Tech team a heads-up on what was coming in terms of back-end changes.

Once the technical side of things was covered, I started doing some competitor research which was used as a stepping stone for our design exploration. I was then armed with enough knowledge to start working on the wireframes and building an Axure prototype to ensure that the flows were respected and were still delivering the best experience.

Once the wireframes were approved, I annotated them to deliver them to the Tech team who built the final solution, during that time I often had to review and QA the build to ensure it was following the requirements.
Detailed taskS
♦ Gather requirements from the client to understand exactly what they were trying to achieve.
♦ Creation of a Functional Master in order to map all functionalities needed on the site and anticipate the site structure and behaviour.
♦ The new solution would be using hybris as such with the help of the client, I judged how far the new solution would be from the accelerator and annotated the differences.
♦ Research competitors to understand how to best deliver an engaging and new experience.
♦ Create a set of interactive wireframes in order to test the new designs.
♦ Gather client feedback and amend wireframes, followed by the annotation of said wireframes.
♦ Work closely with Visual designers and Developers to ensure the quality of the final solution.
♦ Review and QA the solution once built.
